**Email** (`/email`) checks that the answer looks like a real email address before respondents can continue.

You can also use an Email question to:

- **Send respondents a copy of their answers** with [Response receipts](/settings/response-receipts).
- **Identify respondents.** Under **Respondent identity**, choose **Collect email** to link each response to this answer. See [Respondent identity](/settings/respondent-identity-and-sign-in).
- **Stop duplicates.** Allow **One response per answer** to accept each email address only once. See [Prevent duplicate submissions](/settings/prevent-duplicate-submissions).

:::tip Use **Response validation → Ends with** to accept only work emails, for example `@yourcompany.com`. :::
