The Finerlise editor works like a document: you type questions straight onto the page. There's no drag-and-drop builder to learn.

## Create a form

1. **Open your workspace**

Sign in at [finerlise.com](https://finerlise.com/w) and pick a workspace. On the dashboard, click **New form**.

2. **Choose how to start**

    Pick one of the options:

    - **Start from scratch** opens a blank page.
    - **Build with Fin AI** drafts a form from a description. See [Create a form with Fin AI](/get-started/create-with-fin-ai).
    - **Import a form** rebuilds an existing form from a PDF, screenshots or a document. See [Import a form](/get-started/import-a-form).
    - **Templates** start from a ready-made form. See [Start from a template](/get-started/start-from-a-template).

3. **Give it a title**

Click the title at the top of the page and type a name. The title is also what respondents see first.

4. **Add questions**

Press `/` (or <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>K</kbd>) to open the block menu. Type to search, for example `email` or `rating`, and press <kbd>Enter</kbd> to insert the block. Then type the question.

5. **Preview**

Click **Preview** to try the form the way respondents will see it.

6. **Publish**

Click **Publish**. Your form gets a public link, and the **Share your form** dialog shows it so you can copy it.

:::tip[Your work saves automatically] Every change saves as you type. Respondents only see the changes after you **Publish** again, so you can keep editing a live form safely. :::

## Edit a question

Select a block to open its settings in the right-hand panel. That's where you mark a question **Required**, add a **Default answer**, set **Response validation**, and more. See [Field options](/blocks/field-options).

To change a block's type, use **Turn into** in the block menu. To hide a block without deleting it, press <kbd>⌘</kbd> <kbd>⇧</kbd> <kbd>H</kbd>.
