Return to your website
Send people from your app to a form, then bring them back with a response ID your server can read.
Return to your website connects a form to your own product. You send someone to the form, they fill it in, and Finerlise sends them back to your site with a response_id. Your server then fetches the answers with the API.
Typical uses are onboarding questionnaires, KYC-style intake and in-app surveys.
Set it up
Turn it on
Go to Settings → Responses → Return to your website and switch it on.
Add your return URLs
Under Allowed return URLs, add up to 5 exact URLs Finerlise may send people back to, for example https://app.example.com/onboarding/done.
Link to the form
Send respondents to your form with redirect_uri and an optional state:
https://finerlise.com/f/your-form?redirect_uri=https%3A%2F%2Fapp.example.com%2Fonboarding%2Fdone&state=user_123If you only allow one URL, you can leave out redirect_uri.
Handle the return
After submitting, the respondent lands on:
https://app.example.com/onboarding/done?response_id=8f14e45f-ceea-4e7a-9a3b-2c1d5b6e7f80&state=user_123Check that state matches what you sent, then fetch the response with a Workspace API key:
curl https://finerlise.com/api/v1/responses/8f14e45f-ceea-4e7a-9a3b-2c1d5b6e7f80 \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $FINERLISE_API_KEY"Good to know
- Answers are never put in the return URL. Your server always fetches them with the API.
redirect_urimust exactly match one of your allowed URLs. Other links show “This form isn’t configured to return to that website.”statecan be up to 512 characters. Use it to tie the response to a user or session in your app.- A return link skips end pages and other redirects for that submission.
See the Return flow reference for the full technical details.
